Keywords:fiber optic temperature sensor, high resolution, thermal time constant

We have examined a high-resolution temperature sensor based on the precise measurement technique of the optical length of optical fiber using a gain-switched DFB laser. We have estimated thermal time constant of an optical fiber used for the sensing part using the conventional method. But it may be buried in the response time of this sensing system. In this study, we measured the thermal time constant using a faster measurement method.
