A silicon Raman laser using a high-Q nanocavity stably oscillates at room temperature below a threshold of μW. In order to expand the application range of this device, it is important to improve the pumping efficiency and output most of the Raman laser light to the waveguide adjacent to the resonator (in-plane emission type). The above technique for the single resonance mode has been demonstrated with a hetero-reflection mirror made by changing the lattice constant. This time, we report about the Raman laser structure with hetero-reflection mirror.
