Laser-induced forward transfer (LIFT) is a technique which can deliver various types of substances such as metals, semiconductors, ceramics, biomaterials and so forth. In this talk, two types of LIFT processes are introduced for the transfer of nanometer- and micrometer-sized dots and functional films containing bioactive proteins, along with development trends in Japan and overseas.
