Keywords:soft material, bending, cholesteric liquid crystal

Soft materials such as polymer materials and elastomers have attracted great attention, and application to soft robots and flexible devices is rapidly progressing. However, there are problems with bending durability, and it is required to understand bending of soft materials in details. In this study, we analyzed the inner strain in bending soft materials via selective reflection of cholesteric liquid crystals.
