Dental composite resins are composite materials that were composed of inorganic fillers and synthetic polymers of photo polymerization type. Because of the merits which are ease to treatment and aesthetics of dental composite resins, users of dental composite resins are increasing. However, the disadvantage of the dental composite resins was treatment with curing by light irradiation. Due to the low light transmittance at the lower layer of dental composite resins which is filled in the defect site of teeth, unreacted monomers remained in the dental composite resins. The results shown that unreacted monomers had effects in vivo which are irritation to the pulp, mucous membranes.
In order to overcome these issues, all bio composite fillers were created without monomers of photo polymerization type. And this bio composite fillers were used as substitute materials instead of conventional dental composite resins.
