[14a-B410-5] Resonance modes sensitive to the asymmetry of cavity shape
Keywords:microcavity, resonator mode, cavity shape
Ray-wave correspondence in two-dimensional optical microcavities is an interesting research topic from a view point of fundamental physics. I investigated the morphological dependence of resonance modes in a Penrose unilluminable microcavity which always has unilluminable regions (dark regions unreachable by optical rays) wherever a point light source is set in the cavity. Our numerical calculation results based on the finite element method revealed that the microcavity has peculiar resonance modes which are extremely sensitive to the asymmetry of the cavity shape. In my talk I will discuss the formation mechanism of these peculiar resonance modes.
