In the present study, to improve the efficiency of surface Ullmann coupling of planar molecules, Au-based alloy substrate, i.e., Au-Ag and Au-Cu were prepared using vacuum deposition on cleaved mica. 2,4,6-Tris(4-bromophenyl)triazine (TBPT) monomer molecules were deposited on the alloy substrates from solutions through solvent evaporation. Surface observation was performed using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). The substrate surfaces were sufficiently flat without annealing.
