太陽電池をはじめIII-V系デバイスの低コスト化に向けた様々な研究開発が進められている。高価な単結晶基板をいかに安価にできるかというアプローチで、エピタキシャルリフトオフ（ELO）法が注目されている。本シンポジウムでは、III-V系多接合太陽電池への応用に向けた大面積、高速ELO技術開発、および基板再利用技術開発に関する取り組みを中心に講演する。
