[14p-B406-10] Mid-infrared light generation by parametric down-conversion with PPSLT

Keywords:Parametric down conversion, mid-infrared light generation, PPSLT

Parametric down-conversion process is a well-known process of generating photon pairs in the mid-infrared region and the visible region that are quantumly correlated. In this study, we investigated the parametric down-conversion process using a periodically-polarized Mg-doped LiTaO3 (PPSLT) crystal. When the wavelength of the pump light was selected from 0.6 µm to 0.85 µm, we found that there were two coaxial solutions existing with the same polarization-periodicity of the PPSLT crystal. The broadband mid-infrared light generation utilizing this feature will be described.
