Optical refrigeration of solids via multi-phonon assisted anti-Stokes photoluminescence (PL) realizes novel cooling devices without heat generation. We fabricated the (Yb:Y)AG-(Yb:Y)AM eutectic transparent thin film by the radiofrequency sputtering machine and observed the anti-Stokes PL. The excitation dependent resonant anti-Stokes PL indicates the resonant feature of (Yb:Y)AG and (Yb:Y)AM. One of the possibilities is the energy transfer process between (Yb:Y)AG and (Yb:Y)AM. The ideal cooling efficiency of 1.5% in the obtained thin film suggests that the (Yb:Y)AG-(Yb:Y)AM eutectic transparent thin film could be utilized for optical refrigeration.
