The smoke particles under the laser beam move in the oppsite direction to light propagation. Particles under radiation pressure are forced to move in the direction of light propagation. To investigate the differences in particle movement in directions, the theory of photophoresis is introduced in this study. Experimentally obtained particle velosities under the laser beam irradiation are analized based on both radiation pressure and photophoretic force.
