△ [14p-B408-5] Precise measurement of lateral optical force acting on a pair of plasmonic nanorods
Keywords:Optical force, Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance, nanomotor
Highly directive scattering in the vertical plane to the incident light can occur by the localized surface plasmon resonance on a pair of metal nanorods of different lengths. And using the lateral force that arise as a rebound of this scattering, light-driven linear or rotating actuator can be realized[1]. But it is necessary to evaluate optical force acting on a pair of nanorods quantitatively and precisely for designing high functioning and highly accurate actuator. Conventional measurement system that conducts position detection with CMOS camera and feedback using PC for arithmetic processing has a limitation for sensitivity improvement of force measurement due to low speed position detecting and long delay. In this research, we aimed to develop highly sensitive optical force measurement system by combining high-speed position detecting with quadrant photodiode(QPD) and acousto optical deflector(AOD) and arithmetic processing with FPGA.
