It is known that a large amount of collagen is produced when an organ such as a kidney or a liver suffers from chronic failure. The purpose of this work is to measure the electric polarization induced by ultrasound waves and to explore the possibility of diagnosing fibrosis in a kidney failure model.
We verified the acoustically induced polarization in a rat model (5/6 nephrectomy chronic kidney failure model) that is close to the actual disease. In this talk, we will report the results in detail.
