In optical packaging, optical waveguides play an important role, and a wide range of active research has been conducted, including inorganic and organic ones. When an optical fiber from the outside is connected to an optical waveguide utilizing a semiconductor process, it is often difficult to achieve both high coupling efficiency and maintenance of the transverse mode. In this presentation, we report a highly flexible polyimide fiber developed for optical packaging.
