Keywords:conducting polymer

Poly(bis-3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (Poly(bisEDOT)) was synthesized through electrochemical polymerization by using a chiral liquid crystal with 7,7,8,8-Tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ). Poly (bisEDOT) having a helical structure was obtained by using a chiral liquid crystal as a solvent. TCNQ acted as an electrolyte in the polymerization process. In addition, TCNQ acted as an electron acceptor molecule for Poly(bisEDOT), producing an optically active charge transfer complex.
