[14p-PB7-6] layered thermosensitive light-controlling device with low-molecular weight LCs

Light-controlling device for windows have been much attention that control of sunlight transmission and protect of privacy in architecture, automobile and airplane. Polymer dispersed liquid-crystalline materials are mainly used for light-controlling materials. Recently, we developed thermosensitive light-controlling materials with low-molecular weight liquid crystals by easier processing methods, however, the performance of the device is not enough. In this study, we investigated the layered device to develop high performance light-controlling devices. The transmittance of the device at the scattering state was decreased below 10% with the layered structure.
