[15a-A405-3] Optical generation and detection of GHz shear acoustic waves in a transparent medium with metal grating structures

Picosecond ultrasonics measurement is done on a transparent medium with metal grating structure. With this structure, one can generate shear acoustic waves in the medium. For the optical detection of the shear acoustic waves, the probe incident angle needs to be in low symmetry configuration. We use oblique probe incident configuration and succeeded in obserbing the Brilluoin oscillation caused by the shear acoustic waves. Both experiments and theretical model will be discussed in the talk.
