[15a-B409-4] Measurement of wavefront perturbation by image correlation: from solar telescopes to biological microscopes

Noriaki Miura1 (1.Kitami Inst. of Eng.)

Keywords:adaptive optics, solar telescope, biological microscopes

Adaptive optics (AO) is a technique of correcting influence of turbulence induced by propagation medium and enabling observations of detailed structures of objects. We have developed an AO system for a solar telescope, in which a correlation-based wavefront sensing technique is used. We have recently started to develop an AO system for biological microscopes using the correlation-based technique. I will describe both the systems and show some observational results.
