The total angular momentum, which is the sum of the orbital angular momentum due to the light vortex caused by the helical wavefront and the spin angular momentum caused by the circularly polarized light, has attracted attention because it can control the chirality of matter.
In this presentation, we report that we have found that the chirality of a crystal can be controlled by circularly polarized light vortices having full angular momentum.
It was found that the enantiomeric excess of sodium chlorate crystals formed by the laser trapping crystallization method was dependent on the total angular momentum.
