Abnormal collagen crosslinks such as advanced glycation in bone are known to affect mechanical strength. Here, we investigated the effects of glycation on longitudinal wave velocity in wet collagen films using a micro-Brillouin light scattering technique. Longitudinal wave velocities in wet glycation samples decreased due to incubation time. Those were 5.7 % lower than the velocities in the wet reference samples without glycation(p<0.01). These results suggest that glycation possibly reduces the elasticity of collagen in bone.
