We have been examining the application of ultrasonic velocity change method as a non-invasive characterization for carotid plaque. In an experiment using a phantom, a fat region under pulsation was successfully detected. However, when applied to humans, complicated movements due to pulsation occur, it is difficult to calculate the accurate ultrasonic velocity change amount, and it is difficult to effectively change the temperature of plaque in the blood vessel lumen is an issue. In this study, the solution to these problems was examined.
