△ [15p-A202-7] Enhancement of degree of order on Ni2MnAl by magnetic field

The L21-Ni2MnAl is one of the Heusler alloy. This ferromagnetic L21-phase is formed by annealing from quenched B2-phase. The B2/L21 order - disorder transition temperature is about 770 K. Because ordering takes a long time, it is difficult to synthesize L21-phase with high degree of order. On the other hand, the ferromagnetic phase is stabilized in a magnetic field by the gain of Zeeman energy. For investigating magnetic field effects for ordering on L21-Ni2MnAl, in field annealing for B2-phase were carried out.
As the result, the magnetic properties of the sample obtained from in-field annealing were improved. This result shows that in-field annealing increased the degree of order on Ni2MnAl.
