△ [15p-A408-4] Glyphosate Detection by a Water-Gated Organic Transistor
Keywords:organic transistor, chemical sensor, polythiophene
The detection of glyphsosate (known as a herbicide) in water has great importance, because the compound has been categorized as probably carcinogenic to human. Herein we attempted highly sensitive and easy electrical detection of glyphosate using an organic transistor (OFET) based chemical sensor. The employed semiconducting polymer possesses a carboxylate side-chain coordinated with copper(II) ion, which can interact with glyphosate. As the device structure for the sensing application, an electrolyte-gated OFET has been applied. We report the result of the glyphosate titration and its selectivity, indicating that the electrolyte-gate OFET is a promising platform for chemical sensing applications in water.
