Laser has many application in our daily life. Laser can be found in almost all electronics devices nowadays. Two of the applications of laser are for optical communication and optical wireless power transmission (OWPT). In this reserahc, hybrid free space optical communication and optical wireless power transmission system is designed and analyzed. 980 nm high power laser is used for power transmission and 660 nm laser is used for data transmission. Dichroic mirrors which reflects <900 nm wavelength of light are used at the transmitter to align the 980 nm and 660 nm lasers and at the receiver to seperate the lasers. Intensity modulation and direct detection (IM-DD) is used in data transmission. Using this method, more than 1 W electric power and 10 MHz data transmission have been demonstrated.
