▲ [10a-N305-5] Optical properties of lateral heteromonolayer WSe2–MoSe2
Keywords:transition metal dichalcogenides, lateral heteromonolayer, energy transfer
Excitons in monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) dominate their optical properties even at room temperature due to their large binding energies. Among various excitonic phenomena observed in these two dimensional (2D) semiconductors, the spatial migration of 2D excitons have recently attracted much attention because of novel exciton physics caused by the 2D exciton motion, and emerging opportunity to use these phenomena for developing future excitonic devices. However, generating fast and anisotropic exciton flow or energy transfer in 2D semiconductors, which is required to realize high performance excitonic devices, still remains a challenge. Here, we demonstrate evidence of fast and directional exciton energy transfer from WSe2 to MoSe2 at the WSe2–MoSe2 lateral heterojunction interface using simultaneous measurements of photoluminescence spectra and image.
