[10a-N401-4] In-situ analysis of iron-oxide-reduction with nitride ceramics

The modern ironmaking emits much CO2 and the development of new carbon free iron smelting is required now. We found that nitride ceramics reduce iron oxides without CO2 emission. The iron is formed in Ar atmosphere beyond 1150℃ easily. But it is impossible to see the ironmaking process in bulk condition. We tried to see the iron precipitation directly with in-situ TEM. The video recording of iron precipitation and growth was succeeded. The detailed results of iron making process in TEM will be reported.
