We study the exciton-plasmon coupling of the MoS2 monolayers on one-dimensional plasmonic nanogrooves (NGs). Our proposed NGs can align the excitons orientation and plasmon polaritons in parallel, which is better for stronger coupling. The Rabi splitting as large as 65 meV at room temperature, the photoluminescence enhancement, and the lifetime reduction were attributed to the exciton–plasmon coupling. The surface potential shift of 13.5 meV by the exciton-plasmon coupling was revealed by the photo-induced Kelvin force probe microscopy.
