△ [10a-N406-3] Thermoelectric power generation using the composite effect of Ag2S
Keywords:thermoelectric materials, the large Seebeck coefficient, the composite effect
We focused on Ag2S, which possesses a phase transition between an insulating low-temperature phase and a metallic high-temperature phase. By using the bottom-heating-top-measurement setup, the high-temperature phase and the low-temperature phase coexisted in the top surface and the bottom of the sample. We succeeded in obtaining the low electrical resistivity due to the high-temperature phase in the bottom and the large Seebeck coefficient in the low-temperature phase at the surface at the same time. As a result, the high thermoelectric performance was realized in a relatively wide temperature range. In this study, we evaluated the power generation performance of Ag2S possessing the composite effect described above.
