Since electric fields in plasmas are directly related to the generation and maintenance of plasmas, a detailed understanding of electric fields, including their distribution, is desirable. In this study, we have succeeded in detecting a small electric field of about 2 V/mm by observing the electric field induced coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering generated in the visible region using a novel scheme. Although there is still room for further optimization, this is 2.5 times weaker than the lower limit of detection of 5 V/mm using the conventional scheme.
