Keywords:microneedle, bioabsorbable materials

Microneedles made of bioabsorbable polymer are attracting attention as a minimally invasive transdermal drug delivery technology. If the microneedles can reach blood vessels, it is expected to create a new minimally invasive medical technology. To reach blood vessels, microneedles need to be at least 2 mm in length, but the material strength of polymers is low, and molding of high aspect ratio shapes is still a challenge. In this study, we molded high aspect ratio microneedles using bioabsorbable polymers and investigated their medical applications.
