[10p-N201-4] Diffuse optical imaging -- Time-domain approach

Goro Nishimura1 (1.Hokkaido Univ.)

Keywords:light scattering, diffusion, biomedical optics

Diffuse optical imaging is a technology to visualize absorbers or emitters in a strongly opaque medium. The problem here is diffusive light transporting through the medium, resulting in spatial information loss. Therefore, one needs to solve an inverse problem of a diffusive system with boundary measurement data to yield a distribution of the scattering and absorption coefficients. In this talk, we will discuss a time-domain method and an example of diffuse fluorescence imaging.
