△ [10p-N205-2] Rotation behavior of anisotropic diffraction rings based on molecular reorientation of polymer-stabilized dye-doped liquid crystals
Keywords:Liquid crystal, Nonlinear optical effect, Polymer stabilization
Liquid crystals (LCs) exhibit various optical properties by controlling their molecular orientation. In particular, molecular reorientation of oligothiophene-dye-doped LCs is induced by nonlinear optical effect, resulting in the generation of concentric diffraction rings on the screen. Recently, we found that the addition of a small amount of polymer to the dye-doped LCs caused the formation of elliptical diffraction rings on the screen. Moreover, the elliptical diffraction ring rotates by irradiation of a circularly polarized laser beam. In this study, we investigated the formation and rotation behavior of the diffraction rings in terms of the molecular orientation.
