We have found that the use of the long-pulses of a Nd:YAG laser at low energy is a quite efficient for drilling of amorphous alloy metal foils compared with the use of nanosecond pulses.
We proposed that the high efficiency is attributable to two following factors: i) Plama shielding is suppressed because the amount of plasma generation is low.ii) Repetitive drilling is carried out by sub-pulses that compose a long-pulse.
