[10p-N306-8] Off-diagonal Thermoelectric Effect of Graphene by Introducing Defects
Keywords:graphene, thermoelectric conversion, 2D material
Anisotropicity of the thermoelectric material generates the voltage perpendicular to the heat flow, which is so-called off-diagonal thermoelectric effect. In this study, we introduced defects with striped pattern by O2 plasma treatment to make the graphene device electrically and thermally anisotropic. We then measured the off-diagonal thermoelectric voltage by changing the interface angle between defective and non-defective areas of the device. As a result, we found that the obtained thermoelectric voltage is attributed to the off-diagonal thermoelectric effect, which is a new root for enhancing the conversion efficiency of graphene thermoelectric devices.
