The fine droplets were ejected using an inkjet device having a small variation in the diameter of the generated droplets of several percent or less, and introduced into the atmospheric-pressure argon plasma. First, droplets of chloroauric acid aqueous solution was ejected to synthesize submicron-sized gold particles. Due to the small variation in droplet size, the synthesized gold particles showed monodispersity. Furthermore, in order to obtain knowledge about the interaction between plasma and microdroplets, in-situ observations such as solvent evaporation behavior of droplets in plasma were carried out.
