[10p-N406-17] Energy-harvesting by thermo-electrochemical cells
Keywords:thermo-electrochemical cell, energy harvesting
We will report progress of development of thermo-electrochemical cells (TECs). The TECs include two electrodes in contact with an electrolyte containing a redox couple. Thermo-voltage of TECs is higher than that of the thermoelectric element based on the Seebeck effect. The TECs can be rechargeable by a combination of two different reactions. The goal of this research is to provide TECs harvesting electricity sufficiently from various low-temperature heat sources to power wireless IoT devices without batteries.
