We report the self-induced spin-orbit torque (SOT) in a Ni-Fe single ferromagnetic layer. The self-induced SOT was investigated for the very thin Ni-Fe layers with and without structural inversion symmetry by measuring the spin torque ferromagnetic resonance. Our results suggest that the damping-like torque observed in the asymmetric Ni-Fe samples comes from the significant spatial change in the properties of Ni-Fe.
