Kazunori Takada1 (1.NIMS)

Keywords:solid state ionics, interface, nanoionics

Ionic conductor, e.g. including solid electrolytes, often show anomalous conducting properties that are different from those in the bulk. In the beginning, such phenomena called “nanoionics” have been reported as enhanced conduction originating from generation of ion vacancies or interstitial ions. Recently, importance of nanoionics has become recognized again: Because it can give high interfacial resistance between the materials in solid-state batteries, it should be fully understood and controlled in order to realize high-performance solid-state batteries.
