In solar cells (PV), most of the energy that cannot be converted into electricity is discarded as heat. We have been proposing and demonstrating a "heat recovery solar cell" that can convert part of the waste heat into electricity by incorporating a thermoelectric conversion function into a solar cell. In this study, we fabricated a heat recovery solar cell type II (= 2-terminal series-connected PVTE hybrid) using thermoelectric (TE) devices and verified the heat recovery effect by I-V measurements under temperature control.
