The NV centers in diamond can be successfully formed by the femtosecond laser irradiation and successive thermal treatment. Although the formation of defect vacancies is considered to be triggered by the intense electric field, the effect of the polarization direction on the NV center formation is still unclear. In our study we aim to reveal the polarization-dependence of the NV center formation.
