[11a-S201-2] Make the STM world shine with light!

Hidemi Shigekawa1 (1.Tsukuba Univ.)

Keywords:Scanning Probe Microscopy, Quantum Optics, Ultrafast Spectroscopy

Forty years have passed since the invention of the scanning tunneling microscope (STM). However, many new related technologies are still being developed, and new worlds are being opened up in various fields. One of them is an attempt to integrate the advanced technology of quantum optics with STM and related technologies. The development over the last ten years has been remarkable, and it has spread worldwide. The entry of experts in the laser field is also noteworthy. In this talk, I would like to overview the current situation and look into new possibilities that will lead to future dreams.
