[11p-N205-5] Power generation with thermoelectric modules using radiative cooling

Yuki Ito1, Mana Toma1, Kotaro Kajikawa1 (1.Tokyo Inst.)

Keywords:radiative cooling

In recent years, energy harvesting by using thermoelectric modules (TEMs), which generate electromotive force from the temperature difference between the two sides of the module due to the Seebeck effect, has attracted much attention. It has been reported that the passive cooling, radiation cooling (RC) phenomenon improves the power generation efficiency. In this study, we used liquid nitrogen (LN) as a refrigerant to investigate the electromotive force of TEMs under well-defined conditions and investigated the optimal conditions to obtain high power generation efficiency in both RC materials and structures.
