光ユニタリ変換器 は，多数の直交した入力光信号を任意の異なる直交基底に変換する素子であり，光通信，量子演算，光深層学習などの広範な分野への応用が期待される．著者らは今回，非等分配型多モード干渉計カプラを利用することで，小型光ユニタリ変換器をInP上に実現したのでその結果を報告する．
