We have demonstrated high bit resolution operation of circuit-topology-based electro-photonic digital-to-analog converters which directly convert electric digital signals to photonic analog signals with low latency and the highest signal-to-noise ratio ever. At this time, we employed compact phase modulators with non-traveling-wave electrodes in a new configuration, then we have achieved 10GS/s operation with 4-5 bit resolution. This should be applied for low-latency data input encoders in photo-electronic converged processors, and high symbol rate transmitters for short-range communication.
