[11p-N324-1] Photon-Charge counting signal processing in semiconductor radiation detectors
Keywords:Photon-Charge counting, Semiconductor detector, digital signal processing
Not only semiconductor detectors but also radiation detectors use electronics based on highly perfected analog signal processing. On the other hand, advances in LSI technology, including microfabrication technology, have made it possible to realize unprecedented digital signal processing with LSI. We wanted to extract higher-order information, such as the waveform information (time information) of the detector, which tends to be buried in analog signal processing, by directly digitally counting photons, which originally exist in digital form, and the electric charge (electrons) generated in the detector, and performing signal processing. I would like to talk about this photon/charge counting signal processing based on nanovision science, and discuss its potential in semiconductor detectors, especially in imaging devices.
