[11p-S201-5] Growth mechanism and structure control of two-dimensional single-layer materials

Hiroki Hibino1, Shengnan Wang2, Hiroyuki Kageshima3 (1.Kwansei Gakuin Univ., 2.NTT Basic Res. Labs., 3.Shimane Univ.)

Keywords:2D materials, graphene, haxagonal boron nitride

Over the more than 10 years, we have worked on growing two-dimensional (2D) materials and their heterostructures in controlled manners based on the understanding of the growth mechanism. In this talk, after we explain the methods of analyzing number of layers and stacking structures of 2D materials using low-energy electron microscopy, we review our research on the growth mechanism and growth control of hexagonal boron nitride, which plays an important role as dielectrics in device applications of 2D heterostructures, and its heterostructures with graphene.
