[11p-S202-3] Mid-infrared lasers based on polycrystalline Cr2+:ZnS/ZnSe

We report the development of continuous wave Cr2+:ZnSe and Cr2+:ZnS lasers, and mode-locked Cr2+:ZnS laser using semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM). We obtained wavelength tunability of 1949-2402 nm and 2186-2684 nm for the Cr2+:ZnSe and the Cr2+:ZnS, respectively. In addition, in the mode-locking experiments, we observed mode-locked pulses at a repetition rate of 93.6 MHz. Spectral bandwidth and center wavelength were ~0.7 nm and 2427 nm.
