△ [11p-S401-2] Development of Acoustic Metamaterial Sheets with Two-Dimensionally Connected Local Resonators
Keywords:acoustic metamaterial, sound insulation, finite-element analysis
The practical use of acoustic metamaterials is still limited in spite of the remarkable functionalities. In this study, spring-mass local resonators composed of rubber stubs with embedded metallic weights were integrated into a novel flexible sheet-like material by connecting them through a thin rubber sheet using our material processing techniques. Our material design enables mass-production and single-step assembly of numerous resonators on target objects. The acoustic metamaterial sheet will have appealing practical applications as a lightweight sound insulation sheet that exhibits noise insulation performance breaking the conventional mass law.
