In recent years, electret-based vibrational energy generators (VEGs) have attracted attention because they can generate electricity from ambient vibrations. But, the fabrication of electrets requires a charging process, which is one of the factors preventing mass production. We recently proposed using spontaneously oriented polar organic molecules, which are OLED materials such as Alq3 and TPBi, as electrets, and realized VEGs that do not require any charging process. In this talk, we will introduce the principle of its operation, and enhanced output power and lifetime by utilizing organic electronics technology.
