[12a-N306-1] Growth of small-diameter SWCNTs using Os catalyst

We succeeded in single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) growth by alcohol catalytic chemical vapor deposition (CVD) with an Os catalyst. The diameters of grown SWCNTs were less than 1 nm. Particularly, they were vertically aligned on SiO₂/Si substrates, when the growth temperature and the etanol pressure were 800°C and 200 Pa. This is the first report of SWCNT growth from an Os catalyst.
